 Dangerous Game: The Wager Game 

Players: 

One person is needed to play this game. 

Requirements: 

1) A standard deck of 52

2) One table and two chairs (one chair for player and another one for spirit)

3) A dark room. 

4) A dim light. 

How to start the game? 

To start the game, firstly you need to make some arrangements. Some of the steps to start the game are: 

  • You should begin the game at midnight. 
  • Choose your deck of cards and remove the jokers from it. 
  • Bring all the required stuff in the dark room. 
  • Close the door behind you. 
  • Draw the curtains if required. 
  • Turn off all the main lights and turn on the small light. 
  • Take a seat. 
  • Wait. 
  • Don't wait for a visual cue. 
  • Don't wait for an aural cue. 
  • If you see or hear anything, then immediately get up from your seat, turn on the lights and leave the room and don't enter the room until sunrise. 
  • Wait. 
  • You will know when your opponent has arrived. 
  • You will come to know, when the spirit will take his seat on the chair (you willn't be able to see or hear him or her but you will come to know when he will arrive) 

Main steps of the game: 

  • Pick up the cards and give it a few good shuffles. 
  • Now, deal:Three cards, face down, for your opponent and three cards, face down, for yourself. 
  • Pick up your cards, look at them and assess your hand. Don't reveal them to your opponent. Don't attempt to sneak a peek at your opponent's hand. 
  • It's your turn. Choose one card from your hand to play, face it up on the table. 
  • Now, it's your opponent's turn. Wait for them to select one card from their hand to play and indicate to you which card they have chosen. When they have indicated the card to you then face it up for them. 
  • If your opponent wants to make wager then they will do so now. 
  • If wagers have been made, each player will now collect on their wager. 
  • When both of the players are done with their turns then you should clear the played cards and place them in a discard pile off to the side. 
  • Before starting the next round, take up the remainder of the deck and deal each player's hand back up to three. 
  • At the starting of each round, every player should have three cards. 
 Ending the game: 
  • Whenever you want to end up the game then pick up any undealt cards remaining in the deck, turn them face up, stand up from your seat and switch on the lights. 
Additional Information: 
  • You can use candles for dim light in the room but you shouldn't because as we know that candles go out quite easily. 
  • Don't carry any food or drink in the game room. 
  • Don't fail to remove the jokers from your deck of cards before playing.
