 10) The Kolkata Dock 

This place was originally owned by Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh. 

After his kingdom was snatched from him by the East India Company in 1856, the Nawab took refuge in the area which now holds the Kolkata docks. There are a few eerie stories about the complex. It is believed that the Spirit of the Nawab resides here to take revenge on the british empire. 

9) The Hastings House 

The Belvedere Estate was one of the oldest establishments in Alipore. Hastings House is a small part of Belvedere Estate. 

Stories are that Warren Hastings visits the campus in search of some old papers he had lost. Another story is of his infamous wife and children, all of whom had unnatural death within this place, it is said that he comes to this place to relive his memories. 

8) Writers Building Kolkata 

A few rooms in Writers Building are suspected to be haunted. It is believed that the Spirit of Captain Simpson of British East India Company, who was killed by the famous revolutionaries Binary, Badal and Dinesh, still resides in the building facades. 

7) Wipro Office 

The place where the building stands was a part of the East Kolkata Wetlands. Residents in the close-by areas of Salt Lake and Rajarhat explain the reasons for the strange experiences felt at the Wipro office. 

The plot where wipro kolkata stands was a graveyard and encounter killings have also reportedly taken place here. Employees are often reluctant to go alone to the washroom after strange incidents have been reported. They have often complained about strange sightings, specifically on the third floor of Tower 3.

According to the locals, on the nights, the "Aghoris" come and they feed on the leftover human flesh from the burning pyre and use them to evoke occult powers.

This place is more spooky and creepier than its name. According to the locals, if you stay past sunset in this house you are surely going to get an encounter with the spirits that hover around. 

The spirits are claimed to be of those poor and beautiful women who were ruthlessly sexually exploited by the Zamindaris who owned this place. 

4) Lower Circular Road Cemetery 

It is one of the famous tourist spots in Kolkata, The tall lush green trees, century old tombs and peaceful surrounding attracts various tourists and locals as well. 

The entry to this place gives you an eerie experience right from the big iron gates to the marble stone studded lanes that take you through the rows of graves bearing british names. Visitors claim to have experienced unusual things after visiting the place. 

3) Rabindra Sarobar Metro Station 

Those who have committed suicide at this metro station are supposed to be haunting the place, and quite a few have over the years. 

Some of the people who have boarded the last train have had some weird experiences. It is claimed that spirits can occasionally be seen riding the last train. People have reported ghostly shadows of figures during the late evenings and nights. 

2) The Royal Calcutta Turf Club 

This is a story of mid 1930s of a tree maniac called George Williams who loved his horses more than his family and his job at the secretariat. 

He had as many as 5 horses, out of which his most famous and dearest was a pearl white horse called Pride. George Williams shot the horse after she was unable to win some races. Mystery or myth, Pride remains alive in the stories of her existence. 

1) National Library 

It is the largest library in India by volume and India's library of public records. People have heard a lot of sounds made by the traditional anklets worn by women during dance performances. 

According to the locals, Lady Metcalfe loved to keep her house clean and hated if someone kept anything out of its own place. Even now, if you visit the library's main reading room, and keep yourself busy amidst a pile of books scattered over, then you did feel her breath down your neck.
