 10) Pawan Hans Quarters (Juhu) 

There is an old peepal tree, which residents claim is the home to the spirit of a 20 year old girl, who poured kerosene and set herself on fire for no apparent reason in 1989. Her presence was so strongly felt by the residents that a resident named Anthony D'Souza, a devout Catholic, built a Hanuman Mandir to protect residents from harm after he was apparently guided to do so in a dream. On full moon nights, the girl can still be seen running, with her clothes still on fire and then she disappears into the tree. 

9) Jogeshwari 

2nd floor of a multi storey building in Jogeshwari is supposedly being occupied by the spirit of an Air hostess who was gruesomely murdered. Thereafter, company allocated the flat to another Air hostess. Since then there have been sightings of a weeping woman on the terrace and around the building. The sobbing lady points out towards the flat and says that she is unable to go home as someone else stays there. 

8) Vrindavan Society (Thane) 

It is said that a man had committed suicide in one of the buildings in Vrindavan Society. The security guards patrolling the area have encountered strange things and happenings since then. They have been slapped hard on their face when alone and have been spooked by ghostly whispers during patrolling at night. 

7) Sanjay Gandhi National Park 

It is strange that people here don't fear the beasts of the jungle as much as they fear the rumored spirit of a hitchhiker who could not bear to live or die peacefully in Mumbai. It is rumored that at night, people have sightings of a hitchhiker that asks people who pass by for rides. Dubious as this may sound, forest guards insist that it is true. 


6) Trident Hotel 

You can't get to the 13th floor of the Trident Hotel at Nariman Point because Trident Hotel doesn't have floor number 13. You can call it superstition or an urban legend but this commercial building doesn't have the 13th floor. 

5) Tower of Silence 

Is actually a Parsi cemetery situated near Malabar Hill in South Mumbai. According to the custom, Parsi leave the bodies of their dead for vultures to feed on. This place has many horrifying stories. The winding road that leads down the hill is isolated and at night people have encountered ghostly apparition. 

4) Grand Paradi Towers 

This is one the top of charts when it comes to a haunted house in Mumbai. On the eighth floor of the Grand Paradi Towers in Kemps Corner, a series of never- racking suicides drew attention to what appeared to be a pattern of deaths and accidents. In 2004 an elderly couple jumped out of the window of this apartment. Their children and their grandchild followed suit within a year. 

3) Mukesh Mills 

Mukesh Mills of Mumbai was closed in the 80's and is now haunted with stories of ghosts. Many films have been shot in and around the vicinity of this mill. According to the sources, once during a shoot an actress herself was possessed by a spirit and started speaking in a masculine voice. Deserted and ruined, Mukesh Mills is a ready made set for horror films. Many directors, actors and producers refuse to work  here past sunset considering the Mill to be haunted. 

2) Taj Mahal Hotel (Mumbai) 

There is a rumour, which is making rounds for quite a long time, it is sid that the architect, who designed the hotel, killed himself in the building as the design for the place didn't go according to the plan. Many people have witnessed his ghost still wandering in the corridor. 

1) D' Souza Chawl (Mahim) 

A well in the D'Souza Chawl area of Mumbai, Mahim has acquired the reputation of being haunted. It is said that a woman, while getting water, fell and died in the well. Many people claim to have seen the ghostly apparition of that woman near the well during nights.
